Do you remember the trend several years ago
of "staycations?"
Well, now that gas prices have stopped skyrocketing,
it is realistic to leave your zip code
on your vacation days
and those have fallen by the wayside.
And then there are those of us whose
travel bucket lists are a mile long
and somehow the bank account
can't always keep up.
Instead of feeling frustrated and boxed in
by staying put at home,
embrace it.
Visit the "tourist" traps.
Take a tour.
Visit a museum or art gallery.
Enjoy everything your home has to offer;
who knows, it may surprise you
how much there is to see and do.
I'm excited to introduce you to my new series
"Tourist in Your Hometown,"
which will be every Tuesday
for the next few weeks.
From the east coast to the west coast,
from small towns to metropolises
and everywhere in between,
bloggers will be sharing how they take
advantage of everything has to offer.
*if you would like to participate, too, email me

I LOVE this! I am beyond excited to participate in this! One of my goals for the year is to tour my city a little more, all of the neighborhoods and it's unique culture. This will only encourage it:) Thanks!
Cheers,
Alyson
I did this on my blog. I live in Washington DC are and went to venture off around here. It was fun.
Great idea!! I have been mulling around an idea for a post about this very thing, so I'll make sure to get in gear and participate here! :)
Sounds like an awesome series! Can't wait to read!
I currently live very far from my "hometown" (and just finished visiting...and have almost no photos to show for it...) but I'm currently living in a second hometown! I'd love to participate!
DC would be the perfect place to play tourist! I'll definitely check your post out. And maybe get some ideas for whenever I decide to visit the capital.
Would love to have you!
Such a great idea. I was just thinking the other day how I always go on vacation and never take advantage of what my city has to offer. Will make sure I do so!
I am excited to see these as discovering your own city can be so exciting!
My husband and I just moved to the big city, so every time we go out it's like a little staycation because it's totally new to us. I'd love to participate!
I would love to have you! I'm emailing you with more details :)
