Weekly Wishes

Thank you for all of your encouraging words last week! It's nice to know that I'm not alone in questioning why I spend my time writing about my life and random thoughts on the Internet for all of the world to potentially read. In a perfect world this would be my space to share all of the amazing travels that I go on. But I haven't quite worked that out yet. So in the meantime I will write about my other hobbies and passions: books, organizing and decorating. I hope that's ok with you :)

And as for #jessdoestexas...there is now fondue, food trucks a drive-in movie and an art museum featuring lots of impressionists thrown in for good measure.

You all also had wonderful suggestions for summer nail colors! I didn't have a chance to purchase any of them, but it's happening. And soon.

This week's wishes

1. Make an organized list of DIY projects that are in my skill level. Remember my DIY world map canvas? Well, that may be pushing my abilities. Are there any craft projects that you have tried and succeeded  at?

2. Not go out to eat. My freezer and fridge are full, yet there is something about getting take out that is so appealing at lunch or on my way home after dinner. Perhaps it's the fact that I can eat in the container that it comes in so not only do I not have to cook, but I also don't have to do dishes. Bonus points if they include plastic silverware as well.

3. Organize my pictures and files on my computer. While my desktop is fairly clean, the initial folders are a hot mess express. If it weren't for the ah-mazing search feature on finder or the fact that I usually take the time to name my files, I would be completely lost and overwhelmed.

We're attempting DIY at home at the moment - challenging to say the least! But lots of fun (I think!). Good luck organising your files, hopefully I'll get round to doing mine one fine day!

Watching HGTV is about as close as I get to major DIY projects. Good luck with yours! And thanks, the true test will be when I decide to organize and clean out my email inbox :)

Thanks! I just got a new computer at the beginning of the year and it's already a mess. So basically I still have yet to merge everything from my old laptop as well. And as for my email inbox and camera memory card? Well, those are projects unto themselves!

Hey there! I definitely need to make a list of DIYs on my skill level too! haha sometimes I see something, and I'm like "yeah I could totally do that!" But then reality sinks in, and it just isn't going to happen!!! lol I completely understand the "take-out" mentality! I'm so with you on that! Good luck on your goals and have a great week!

awesome wishes! I think I might do the same thing with DIYs but with recipes! And haha about eating in "out-to-eat" containers. Love it! :)

If I see the message 'your start-up disk is nearly full' one more time, I think I'll scream! My files and pics are in a right old jumble and really need sorting out and I desperately need to clear some space but it's such an epic task and I don't know where to start, so I've been procrastinating for ages! I need to take some inspiration from you and get my backside in gear!! :) Good luck with it.

Good luck with your goals this week! I have the same problem with eating out when I have plenty of good food in my fridge... it just sounds so much more appealing sometimes.

I can absolutely relate to #2 and #3 and while neither are on my Weekly Wishes list, they should be! Good luck!

I'm soooooooooooooo bad about eating out vs. making my own food. I feel like nothing I make ever tastes as good as something from a restaurant - or even fast food! It's ridiculous. Let me know if you find any great recipes!
