12 Random Facts About Me (In Case You Were Wondering)

I came across a "20 random facts about me" post the other day, and I thought it might be fun to do for all of the new faces around here. This prompt reminds me of the first days of school when you have to write your entire life's story as one of the first journal prompts you do. On a random tangent, do any of you remember the time that schools tried to make journaling part of ever class, including math? That was the worst. Who wants to write about their weekend spent with quadratic equations? Moving on...

1. I didn't like chocolate until a few years ago. It's true. For a while I lied and told people I was allergic so I didn't have to explain why I didn't like the taste.

2. I'm an only child. Growing up I learned to entertain myself and enjoyed spending time alone, which I think is why I enjoy living on my own now.

3. I've never been stung by a bee/wasp/flying insect. Who knows, I could be deathly allergic to the flying pests and not even know it.

4. I'm allergic to mosquitos. Maxi skirts being in style were the best thing to happen to me to hide my bug-bite laden legs.

5. Shark week is one of my favorite weeks out of the year. Although when I was swimming in the ocean Sunday afternoon, I refused to let anyone with me discuss sharks. Too close for comfort.

6. I think I'm funniest via text and Twitter when I have time to come up with witty responses. Please tell me I'm not alone in this.

7. I moved to Florida because there is no state income tax and there are discounts to Disney World.

8. I went to college in a small town in Arkansas. And high school friends for some reason kept thinking I was in Arizona? Both start with an A I guess.

9. Navy blue is my favorite color. After decking my freshman dorm room out in teal, I can't even stand to look at the color anymore.

10. I've only ever driven small cars, which contributed to my lack of parking skills because I've always been able to whip into any space of my choosing.

11. When I was sick one day, I watched Pride and Prejudice on repeat for 8 hours (while sleeping on and off) because I was too weak to get out of bed and put a new movie in.

12. I can almost quote The Princess Bride verbatim. Is it still cool to incorporate "as you wish" into wedding vows? Yes, no?

I love these posts! I am an only child too and completely relate to enjoying time alone. There are worse things to have in repeat than Pride and Prejudice, the same thing happened to me and I had The Holiday on repeat - it was a while before I could watch that film again!

I've also never been stung by a bee/wasp/etc and I always worry that perhaps I don't know that I'm allergic lol ...oh irrational beliefs

I am with you on # 4 & 5! As you know, I loveeee Shark Week, and I am also allergic to mosquito bites. My fiance thinks I am gross because of how large the bites get. Also, that is the best reason to move to Florida, I think I will move there too ;)

I love this list. I think my personality shines a lot more in text for sure. where did you go to college? I'm from Arkansas. I don't think I knew that about you.

I went to Harding in Searcy (about an hour north of Little Rock)! what part of Arkansas are you from?

The sunshine state would love to have you! And I know exactly how you feel about the swelling bug bites. It's not attractive at all. I wear the Off! Deep Woods spray even when I'm in the "urban jungle" LOLZ.

It's just one of many, but glad I'm not alone! I babysat a girl who had serious allergies (not to bees) and I was terrified of having to carry around an epi-pen.

Glad you enjoyed it! I started to notice that a lot of my friends are also only children, I think we tend to get along better. And I wouldn't mind watching The Holiday on repeat and staring at Jude Law for hours on end.

You're not alone in thinking you're funniest over texting and Twitter -- I think the same thing about my texts! haha :)

Love these kinds of posts. I'm super allergic to mosquito bites as well but fortunately not so much to North American skeeters. All throughout Central America and the Caribbean I had huge welts on my body to the point that other people would comment on them. Maxis are my best friend too :)

I'm allergic to mosquitoes too! It's the worst. But for some reason, here in Ohio they don't seem to bite me as bad as they did in Georgia and Arkansas. I'm also allergic to wasps... Maybe that's a sign to you... Sorry :( lol. Also, I can probably quote all of The Princess Bride as well. And I think it is perfectly acceptable to incorporate "As you wish" into your wedding vows as well as something along the lines of "wove, twue wove..."

I'm also an only child, and I find that it is pretty rare to meet other only children. At least it has been for me! And I am allergic to mosquito bites as well, they always swell so badly and I am a prime mosquito target. The mosquito spray doesn't even help me!

I've found that only children seem to get along with each other a lot more for some reason. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who is so allergic to mosquito bites! It can bee slightly embarrassing in the summer with red welts all over my legs.

Yes, Georgia and Arkansas are the worst (especially the front lawn for some reason)!

Haha as long as "mawiage is what bwings us twogetha twoday" makes the cut as well.

I can only imagine how bad it is in central america! I was terrified when chickinguyna made it to Florida. Everyone kept saying the best defense is to not get bit by mosquitos at all and I kept thinking to myself...yeah that's never going to happen.

haha I just need a little extra time to come up with witty comments!
