My First Apartment: Porch Sitting

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. Can you believe that July is almost over? Madness.

I wanted to take the time to give update on the apartment decorating. Lots of prints were ordered this weekend so the beginnings of a gallery wall are in the works. But until then, my porch. Which I love, even though I can only sit out there if I light a citronella candle because the mosquitos are the worst. The rug is the latest edition that I ordered from KellyAnn's. It's a fade resistant plastic material, perfect for hosing off.

Also, check out that healthy, growing plant. Six weeks and counting and only one near-death experience. I think the pride I'm feeling right is similar to what parents feel when their children are growing. Yeah, exactly the same feeling.

Super cute, those rugs are great and you do not need to worry about it getting rained on.

Love the rug! Late October will be perfect weather-wise and lack-of-mosquito-wise for enjoying your porch even more. Your color choice is beautiful.

I can't wait until I have a patio that's pretty, functional, and actually has space for me to relax and read. Your space looks so nice and that plastic rug is actually a great idea. As for the plant thing, I'm a black thumb myself so major props to ya!

Thanks! I love being able to sit outside in the mornings and after dinner, especially once it gets a little cooler. As for the plant, I definitely had to set a reminder to water it and make sure it's not getting scorched. Baby steps...

Thank you! I definitely have a red theme going on in my apartment, so it works. Hopefully I won't get too tired of it.

My apartment is fairly small so having the outdoor space is very much appreciated. The summer is going well, I just can't believe that July is almost over. Good luck with your move!

Thanks! I'm loving it. And now I have the confidence to add to my potted garden. I didn't want to waste money buying plants that were going to die in a few weeks.

They really are the best. The "indoor/outdoor" rugs just don't hold up well in my opinion. And the rain definitely drenches my porch during a storm, so everything out there has to be very durable.

Love those chairs. I have a screened in patio in desperate need of attention. I can never find chairs I like, where did you find these?

I wish I had a screen to keep the bugs out! I found them at Lowe's. They have a great selection of patio furniture and the pillows came from Pier One. They live up to their indoor/outdoor name. After a rainstorm the water beaded up on them and they dried really fast.

My son and I just moved into the house, and the porch needs some attention badly. I would like to sit out there more....just sent your post to my parents so they could see the chairs....the Lowe's in their area seems to have more outdoor furniture then the ones in Charleston!!! Will have to check Pier One for those cushions...thank you so much!!!
